Educating children at Daktari
Here at Daktari we work really
hard to motivate and inspire children. We give them a great experience and
extra lesson in English, maths, geography and biology. In addition, we
educate them about environmental & ecological issues, self-confidence,
social issues, social skills and self respect.
The children at Daktari
As all the children come from
underprivileged or vulnerable backgrounds we do not charge them anything for
their stay. Daktari takes children from:
- The HIV/AIDS Orphanage in
Ofcolaco
- The Rakgolokwane School in
Sekororo village |

Why give a Virtual Gift to
Daktari?
So let us tell you where your
money goes – be sure that every Rand is spent making Daktari Bush School a
positive and enjoyable educational experience for the children. They are
normally in classes of up to 160 children with only one teacher. At Daktari
we take six children at a time which provides a unique possibility for them
to benefit from a more individual experience. However, this is not without
costs. |

VIRTUAL GIFTS AVAILABLE
This is where YOUR VIRTUAL GIFT
really comes in handy as hard work alone unfortunately won’t do the job. So
this is how it can ensure that even more children get a wonderful time at
Daktari. |

The Bushbaby Gift:
This gift will provide enough
money for us to purchase all educational materials (pen, paper, chalk,
reference books etc.) needed to educate all the children for one week. They
do not bring their own pen and paper, so they can take their notebooks away
with them.
R140 (GPB 10, USD 20,
EUR 15, DKK 110). |

money for us to feed one child three meals a day throughout his or her stay
at Daktari. As we know it is really important for children to be fed
properly to enhance their mental capability.

from Sekororo for one whole week. In giving this gift you will be
able to ensure the continued educational work of Daktari,

money for us to collect the children from Sekororo and return them at the
end of the week. The cost of diesel is high here and we need a vehicle which
can safely transport the children and volunteers on both bush and official
roads.
R700 (GPB 50, USD 100, EUR

The Rhino Gift:
This gift will provide enough
money for a group of six children from the HIV/AIDS Orphanage to come and
stay at Daktari for a whole week of education. The HIV/AIDS Orphanage costs
are slightly cheaper because they transport the children and also provide us
with some basic food supplies.
R1400 (GPB 100, USD 200,
