Carte Blanche and Elizabeth Anne doing their bit
News and Thank Yous
In our August newsletter we told you about Carte Blanche's "Making a Difference" campaign. This campaign was launched in August with the ambitious target of raising R20 million for charity. The good news is that over R55 million has been raised. Big donors were:
- BHP Billiton (R25 million)
- Industrial Development Corporation (R7 million)
- Discovery Health (R2.5 million)
- MTN (R2 million)
For the last 16 years, 10c from each Elizabeth Anne’s product sold from June to September has been donated to the Avril Elizabeth Home, a regular donation that has become a support mechanism on which the facility has come to rely on its bid to provide a high level of care 24 hours a day for those who, through no fault of their own, are unable to care for themselves. The total raised to date, including the amount for 2008 is R3,4-million. Read the rest of the article here.
