Chana Motors abuses a charity

In August 2008 Ian and Michele purchased a 10 seater Chana vehicle (for R 104 000) to safely transport the children. It was only 8 months later when Michele got stopped by the traffic officer that we found out the car was registered as a 2 seater instead of a 10 seater.

The vehicle was bought from Chana Boksburg, dealer being Mr Vernon Wilken (082 459 3141), as a 10 seater. We approached many times Mr Vernon Wilken to sort out the problem but he never returned our calls. After further contact with Chana Head Office in Johannesburg it was found out that Mr Wilken has converted the vehicle to a 10 seater illegaly. This is why the vehicle can not be re-registered as a 10 seater.

Daktari cannot use the vehicle as it is illegal to transport the children in it.

Chana Head Office (Mr Dickie Marais 011 668 0300) and Mr Wilken have failed to contact us to resolve the problem. Mr Wilken has ridiculously offered R 50 000 for the vehicle as we urgently need to purchase a legal vehicle. Not only are Chana in breech of contract but they offer such a ridiculously low price so they can sell the vehicle again for more profit!!! The vehicle's retail value is R 80 000.

Please be warned of the way Chana have treated our charity.
